Proficiency

Even though the flying community enjoys an incredibly good safety record, the responsibility that we have as pilots to maintain proficiency cannot be taken for granted.  Unfortunately, the rising costs of flying tends to result in a compromised diligence when It comes to skill maintenance and, consequently, a lack of preparedness for the simplest of tasks.

How many times have you flown an approach to minimums in IFR conditions - recently?  Would you like to identify where your skills, or lack thereof, lie in relation to the toughest of weather conditions? Wouldn't it be great if you could do all of this (and so much more) in a perfectly safe environment?  Well, you can!!!

Located at the Louisville Executive Hangar at Bowman Field (KLOU) in Louisville, KY, Flight Training Solutions offers a means of testing and improving your performance level in a controlled, safe environment at, and beyond, your personal minimums.  All of this is accomplished in the comfortable, yet realistic, setting of flight simulation. At Flight Training Solutions, the  Advanced PC Aviation Training Device (Advanced PCATD) can be utilized to rehearse procedures in both familiar and unfamiliar scenarios at any airport within the continental United States.  If a task response results in an undesirable outcome, the Advanced PCATD can be reset for another attempt as many times as needed to achieve the outcome desired.
The Advanced PCATD is approved for logging both single and multi-engine flight time.

So if it’s improving your skills in handling that engine failure in critical phases of flight in the twin you fly or if it’s time to rehearse some approaches, the PCATD is an ideal platform to get the job done.

Instrument currency requirements are fully achievable using the Advanced PCATD.  The Instrument Proficiency Check can also be completed in the Advanced PCATD with the exception of the required circle-to-land approach.  Let’s face it - if you are at the point of needing an IPC due to lack of recent IFR experience, a flight in an actual aircraft for at least one approach is not a bad idea anyway.

Check out Tier 1 and Tier 2 for efficient ways to maintain that currency where it needs to be.

OUR MISSION

To provide a tool for the local flight training community, through the use of the aircraft and flight simulation, that accurately depicts scenarios and events which will enhance piloting skills in an efficient and safe environment.
